External communication

External communication is the communication outside the organization. It is somehow very formal. This kind of communication will affect the image and reputation of an organization. This gives an organization success and ranking. It is a kind of communication to the public.

 

Internal communication

u Internal communication is within an organization which affect the relation and performance of the employees working within an organization. If internal communication is effective so, on one hand, it will provide satisfaction and productivity in the employees and on the other hand it will increase the productivity of that organization as well.

 

Sub Kinds of Internal communication

u Downward communication

u Upward communication

u Horizontal communication

 

upward communication

u The communication of subordinate with the boss is called upward communication or in other words when the people of lower rank communicate with the people of higher rank. Here come some responsibilities of the people of two ranks. Boss must be concerned and employees must be respectful. Student and teacher, faculty members to the vice-chancellor.

 

Downward communication

u It is the communication of boss with the subordinate or the communication of higher rank with the lower rank. The teacher communicates with students.

u Boss communicates with lower-ranked people

 

Horizontal communication

u It is a communication on an equal level. The communication between two colleagues. The communication between two people of equal rank. Students communicating with one another

 

Poor communication costs an organization time and money.

 

 

Verbal communication and non-verbal communication

u Communication with words is called verbal communication

u Communication without words is called non-verbal communication

 

Formal and informal communication

u Formal communication is the communication with rules and limits

u Informal communication is somehow relaxed and doesn’t require many rules

u Communication becomes poor when we miscommunicate these in a different context or when use them in the wrong context.

 

Ethical and unethical terms

u Good communicator will know the difference between right and wrong

u Ethical is to be honest, correct, sincere, punctual, etc.

u Unethical is the wrong conduct of a communicator

 

 

Interpersonal communication

u The communication between two people is called interpersonal communication. Two agents, sender and receiver

 

Intrapersonal communication

u The communication within one’s own self is called intrapersonal communication. Here the two agents will be mind and heart. It depends on our inner communication, our inner thoughts
