what's up everyone welcome to the Surfside Ittopic24 Blogger channel today I'd be going through a blogger tutorial. so how to create a blog using the blogger platform now if you're creating a more professional website and all the websites that I create at this time I do through WordPress.

but I still know the blogger platform very well it's actually how I got started with creating websites and blogs in general and I had to create one recently for our client so I figured why not create a tutorial about this platform it's still a really good platform it's just kind of basic depending on what your needs are now if you're just trying to create a blog it can be very useful to use blogger because it's completely free the only thing you have to pay for is a domain name so we're gonna get started here if you go to blogger.com what you're gonna need is a Google account so you can sign in to your Google account first I do next is click on create my blog.

I'm just gonna click on the button right here to create your blog so that's gonna bring me here it's gonna say you will be seen as blogger profile and display name so I can enter a display name here so for this For example I'm just gonna do surf side PPC now you can create a blog about anything I mean some of the most popular options are people just blog about their family and home life a lot of people blog about food and recipes and then other people just blog about some of the things they'd like to do their hobbies whether it's outdoors activities going camping different things like that so whatever you want to blog about the main thing is it really has to be something you're passionate about because writing blogs on a daily basis on a weekly basis can become very difficult if you don't enjoy what you're blogging about so starting with blogger is a great way for creators to get started with their first website and keep in mind you can always take your blog or blog and transfer it over to a WordPress website if you need to keep expanding your website so that's why I like blogger because you can always get started here on the first website. 

I created was on blogger I ended up selling that website and it became a huge source of revenue for me so there's really no downside to using blogger besides that it doesn't have some of the capabilities of the larger providers like WordPress like Wix and some of these other website providers out there so my display name I'm just gonna keep as Surfside PPC I'm gonna continue to blogger now okay so this is what you're gonna see when you get started we don't have a blog created yet so what we want to do is create a new blog so I want to create a blog that where I can share some of my different videos - and I can write some different articles than what I actually do on Surfside PPC comm this is gonna be a little bit of a project you're gonna see this account is managed by Surfside PPC comm now what I want to do with my new blog is I'm just gonna title it jb marketing videos so again what I want to do with this blog is to share some of my videos and write some of these shorter articles and different things and it's really gonna be a long term project I'm gonna see if I can actually get organic search engine traffic to this website by sharing some of my content here and kind of putting together some new content on this blog that I'm not gonna put on my website because my website it's kind of gonna mirror my YouTube channel now I want to put a few different things over here and we're just gonna see if I can find any success with it now next is gonna be our address so mine is just gonna be DL marketing videos dot blog spot.com so for free you get a dot Blogspot domain name now I highly recommend just upgrading paying the ten to twenty dollars per year for a domain name domain names are really cheap and you can get something like JB marketing videos com so I'm gonna come to my address here okay so we're gonna do DL marketing videos dot blog spot.com. 

Now next is gonna be themes so I'm gonna go over how to install custom themes but they have a lot of different themes that you can use here the only real way to know the theme that you want to use is to play around with it and to install different themes see how your website looks and see what works best for your needs now the basic themes on blogger are not that great I can go through some of the different ones, my favorite one here is notable so notable is not a terrible one some of these other one's kind of look like websites from the past so you don't really want your website to look like an old website you want it to look new so when people do go on to it it looks like a brand new website and something that someone keeps updated especially on the theme now these other ones aren't terrible but I like notable the best and I'll go through some of these different themes as well and again how to install a custom theme.

We're gonna click on create a blog and now it's really that simple to get started so now we have our blog created you can kind of see it in the background here but what I want to do is get a custom domain name for my blog so you're gonna see JB marketing videos I'm gonna click on search so you're gonna see right here JB marketing videos calm is available $12 a year some of these other ones are a little a bit more expensive so code guru dot life I would highly recommend just doing dot-com I don't ever really use some of these other different extensions.
